The 43rd Annual ESFNA Soccer Tournament & Cultural Festival delivered another unforgettable week of soccer, music, culture, and Ethiopian unity. But this year's event was also marked by major controversy. One of the biggest stories was the sponsorship agreement between ESFNA and the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE). After strong public backlash and intense debate within the Ethiopian diaspora, the sponsorship became one of the most talked-about issues surrounding the tournament, with reports that the agreement was later canceled. The controversy reminded many of last year's heated discussions over which artist should be selected to perform at the festival. Once again, ESFNA found itself at the center of passionate community debate.
