6 Signs: Delusional Disorder
Delusional disorder is a mental health condition where a person holds strong, false beliefs despite clear evidence to the contrary. These beliefs, or delusions, persist for at least a few months and can revolve around themes such as persecution (believing others are out to harm them), grandiosity (thinking they have special powers or status), or jealousy (wrongly suspecting a partner of infidelity). Unlike schizophrenia, people with delusional disorder generally function well in daily life, but their fixed beliefs can strain relationships and create distress. Treatment often includes therapy and, in some cases, medication to help manage symptoms and improve insight.
