Mealie-meal or mielie meal is a moderately coarse flour (substantially coarser than cornflour or cornstarch) produced using maize which is known as mielies or mealies in Southern Africa, from the Portuguese milho. The Portuguese had initially conveyed corn from the Americas to Africa. This bread is often served with curries, chicken tikka & many more tantalizing dishes.
