Officer's Gun Taken While On Duty | Weapon Retention Training

While working at a location that provides services and assistance to the local homeless population, our officer was approached in a confined area by a male who bumped him and took his firearm from his holster in a matter of seconds. We review the video of the incident and break it down with the officer who was involved. We discuss weapon retention and situational awareness tips, as well as a breakdown of the level III holster that the officer was carrying. This holster was defeated in a matter of seconds, and this is good training for anybody that carries a firearm.
