This video examines the concept and significance of inheritance. Roman law developed many of the inheritance institutions used in modern legal systems to this day. The focus is on intestate and testamentary inheritance. The basic forms of wills known to Roman law are discussed. The concepts of "active testamentary capacity," "passive testamentary capacity," "necessary inheritance," and "testamentary legacies (legacies and fideicommissums)" are defined.
