Here I talk about SPDIF trace fix. Sadly, Lampizator recipe is flawed in couple of places. Firstly, he suggests bypassing the output board completely in order to improve the trace. Doing it, would disable both AES/EBU and Glass Optical and is silly. There are other places where SPDIF can be sourced on that board, the best being pin 8 of the 74AS74 flip-flop and the capacitor which is connected to it. Taking the signal from the other side of that cap, additionally gives us some isolation. Second place where he errs, is that he suggests installing 75Ohm resistor to give the output its impedance. The resistor is already there underneath the board and you can check it with multi-meter. I fitted the resistor, because the one in this unit was open circuit, but normally this would not be the case. Lastly, I need another 40 hours of video watching time to reach 4000 hours this year, and this is the last step for me to actually get paid for all this. ;-) Please click "play all" and go to bed.
