Centrifugal Turbojet test run
The Rolls Royce Nene 10 is the first centrifugal compressor engine to run in our test cell. This one is from a CT-133 jet trainer, the Canadian version of the Lockheed T-33, which is the dual cockpit trainer based on the P-80 / F-80 Shooting Star. It was the first jet aircraft in active service with the USAF, and was in combat in the Korean war before the arrival of the F-84 and F-86. Today this engine passed the test with flying colours. For an in cockpit view of the instruments during a start sequence of a Nene 10 in a CT-133, have a look at my vid called Warbird Jets, about my experiences at Oshkosh in 2019. • Warbird Jets The startup begins around 4:45
