A little-known curiosity about this plane is that a Ju-87 was the first aircraft to sink a warship during WWII. On September 26, 1939, the HMS Nelson was damaged by a Ju-87. The first Allied warship to be sunk in the war was the HMS Exmouth, which was sunk by the U-22 on January 21, 1940.
