Southend Shakedown 2025

Back in the late 50's and 60's Southend Seafront would be frequented by Mods on Scooters and Rockers on Triumphs, Ariels, Royal Enfields, Nortons and other old British made bikes. This eventually died down as Britain's Youth culture moved off of two wheels and into 4 wheeled transportation the motor car. However in recent years, the motorcyclist has re-emerged and since 1998 there has been a gathering of motorcycle enthusiasts in Southend at Easter Bank holiday weekend. The Southend Shakedown as it is known has been a popular event which sadly was cancelled last year through lack of staff and funding.
