How would you handle an inmate’s disrespect? Let’s answer this question from one of our subscribers
Here is a question from one of our subscribers. How would you answer this? “I really like your Videos and they are really informative for someone that just started to work in a county Jail. My question would be how you would address the situation, because I'm not sure if my way is the right way. I am overweight so i get allot of comments from inmates when I'm doing my rounds. My approach is to ignore the comments as long as they are not used when I'm giving a direct order to a Inmate. So on rounds i just ignore comments concerning my weight but lets say its count time or something and i give a direct order to sit on the bung or stand against the wall, if a inmate would make a comment about my weight i would address the disrespect. I hope you understand what I'm trying to explain. Is this a good way or should i handle it differently. My thinking about this is, that if i react every time I'm doing a round then i never get done and they see that there's a way to get to me. For me the comments are nothing that concern me, I been overweight all my life and heard every remark so it doesn't bother me. Just wanted to see if I'm on the wrong track. Thanks for the answer and keep up the great channel.
