Major Scales: They are hipper than you think!
https://www.jazzfluteacademy.com/ The traditional method of learning your scales, whilst extremely important, is not any use to our skills as improvisers. By looking at our major scales in a musical fashion, we can develop our technique, whilst learning our major scales and also developing 'language' that we can use while improvising. This video contains just three examples, taken from jazz masters, that we can work on as practice tools. With this method, it's a good idea to take a phrase that you like, write it out (if need be) and learn it over the range of your instrument. And transpose it in a few common keys (or all 12 if you're feeling ambitious!) And if you really want to get deep on this concept, you can check out our E-Book MAJOR SCALE BOOT CAMP which takes this concept a lot further, and in all 12 keys, and also including backing tracks to help you practice with a good time feel. check it out: https://www.jazzflute.org/product-pag... and don't forget to subscribe to this channel! #jazzflute #flute #majorscales
