Line 5, Mi Macro Aeropuerto, is a new electric transportation system connecting the municipalities of Guadalajara, Zapopan, Tlaquepaque, Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, and El Salto, and providing direct access to the Guadalajara International Airport. Its inauguration was led by Governor Pablo Lemus Navarro, who emphasized that public transportation will continue to be a top priority for his administration. The project required an investment of over 5.5 billion pesos and was built in one year and two months. The infrastructure includes nine stations, eight located along the Chapala Highway and one inside the airport, allowing for improved connectivity between different points in the metropolitan area. Line 5 operates with 41 Volvo electric trains and covers a distance of 32 kilometers via three main routes. Its route connects strategic locations such as Expo Guadalajara, Agua Azul Park, Guadalajara Stadium, and the airport terminal, strengthening regional connectivity.
