[Homéopathie] Les homéopathes se foutraient-ils de notre gueule ?

It terrifies charlatans: the control group. A look back at this simple and elegant statistical tool, often censored in the alternative medicine community. Scroll down! There's so much great stuff to watch on the internet. Here are three videos we really, REALLY loved: Mental Hygiene, Episode 18 (Astrology): https://goo.gl/wDbtwc The Biased Face, Mendax Clip #4 (The Placebo Effect): https://goo.gl/YaFD5E Outside of Box, Top 5 Impressive Facts About the Placebo Effect: https://goo.gl/hHZv3B Do you love cat cafes too? Follow the preparations for the reopening of the Saint-Gilles location in Brussels:   / lechattouillecafe   Note: You're likely to run into Laura, Nathan, and Gwenaël there often starting in November O:-) Innoviris is the Brussels Institute for Scientific Research. It's now a very close friend of Albert's. The website: http://www.innoviris.be/fr Thanks to them, "Statistics Explained to My Cat" avoided bankruptcy during the summer of 2017. Link to the 1979 article published in the European Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, cited in the video: https://goo.gl/tZH1BZ Link to the January 2000 article published in the journal "Homeopathy": https://goo.gl/KLRhfn EDIT: The source has been offline since October 17, 2017. A second source was found here: https://goo.gl/k7qure Some will comment that the translation of the conclusion of this study on homeopathy is not entirely accurate. Indeed, the original text clearly states that the researchers failed to demonstrate a statistically significant difference between the two groups, *but that the results are still in favor of the homeopathic group*. Do you find this detail important? Wake up: if there's no statistically significant difference between the two groups, whether the results favor one group or the other is irrelevant. It's astonishing that the researchers felt the need to include this in the conclusion. Link to the 2015 statement from Australia's leading medical research body regarding homeopathy: https://goo.gl/9YMhFM However, we based our video on this article from "The Guardian": https://goo.gl/zm64Y6 At the time of filming, the French Academy of Sciences also issued a nearly identical statement, which you can find here: https://goo.gl/U2MmbC Basically: they demand that homeopaths confront the control group and stop circumventing it. An excellent article on homeopathy was also published on 20minutes.fr in early October: https://goo.gl/ydxDNj (Thanks to OZ, the Zetetic Observatory: http://www.zetetique.fr/) Want to buy the anti-aging cream with diamond powder and white truffles mentioned in the video? It's €49.90 for a 50ml jar, surprisingly cheap. https://goo.gl/uqtvrt https://goo.gl/iTrksq Make sure it contains the minimum legal amount of diamond powder and white truffles required to list the ingredients on the label. Our marketing bullshit detector went off. Finally, here's the 1985 study where astrology was tested against a control group... and didn't survive. Yet, in 2017, many people still believe in astrology. http://muller.lbl.gov/papers/Astrolog...
