Hakob Avchyan: I’m positive about future of the Talysh language
Hakob Avchyan is an Armenian linguist and associate professor specializing in Iranian philology, Iranian dialectology, general linguistics, comparative linguistics, and Talyshi studies at Yerevan State University (YSU). Born in 1989, he has conducted extensive research on the Talyshi language and its dialects, with several research projects at institutions such as Hamburg University and the Austrian Academy of Sciences. His scholarly work includes articles and a textbook on the Talyshi language, focusing on topics such as loanwords, dialect comparison, and etymology. Avchyan is fluent in Armenian, Russian, English, French, and Persian, and is recognized for his contributions to Iranian studies and linguistics.
