Belger Craneyard Studios | Arts Upload
There are certain names that come to mind when we think about growing the arts in Kansas City: Kemper, Bloch, Hall, Helzberg. To that list, we should be adding Belger. It’s a name that you’ve probably seen attached to large trucks and cranes. The cartage company goes back to 1919. But what began with an art gallery in the company headquarters has spawned a ceramics studio called Red Star and now another amazing complex called the Craneyard Studio. What Dick and Evelyn Craft Belger have been quietly building here deserves further examination. KCPT, Kansas City, Public Television 19, Inc.
