Cold Steel Marauder: A Sub-Hilt Bowie?

I put off buying one of these because I thought it would be poorly balanced, but doing so got me the newer model with the saber vs hollow grind. So, what do I think of it, and how does it compare to my other Bowies and sub-hilts? Also, bonus preview of my thoughts on the potential benefits and drawbacks of the sub-hilt.
