Happiness Road: Dong Van to Meo Vac, Geopark Loop, Ha Giang, Vietnam (with Gopro 9)

Music: Pachelbel's Canon in D (by #brooklyn duo) With a total length of 185 kilometers, running from Ha Giang City to Meo Vac, the Happiness Road was completed in 1965. For around 7 years, people from several ethnic groups toiled, and some died, to open the toughest mountain road in Vietnam. It is said that the Road is so named as the local people sent the wish of 'happiness' into the future. We most certainly experienced happiness on these roads! Thank you! Also a big THANK YOU to the family and friends at Meo Vac Valley Homestay. Great accommodation, great food, great family! We truly enjoyed our 4 nights in Meo Vac because of you all:) Auberge de Meo Vac was also beautiful accommodation. However at over 1m VND/ night, it was 4 times the cost of Meo Vac Valley. It also did not have private rooms with bath.
