What do I think of Honey Locust as lumber for woodworking? TLDR: Hard like hard maple. Burns like Cherry. Visually Grain like Ash. Interesting colours. ... ... Last time I was at the lumberyard I was gifted one board of Honey Locust. It had so many pinks and reds in the wood, I was very curious to see what it would look like. But as I only had one board, it had to be small, and as I'd never used it before, I decided to build something just for me, a shop project. I chose to make a cabinet door.
