Full poem: Salena Godden's ‘Tell good people good things’ performed LIVE at ‘Sounds Like Courage’ at The Royal Festival Hall, Southbank, London, 26.06.2026 It was such an extraordinary experience, and such an inspirational night, curated by the mighty Anoushka Shankar and Counterpoint Arts. The incredible line-up included musical performances from Palestinian singer, composer and flautist Nai Barghouti. Kora virtuoso Seckou Keita; Afrofusion rapper MoYah; Mercury Prize-nominated songwriter Nadine Shah; soul singer and songwriter Nectar Woode; the London Contemporary Orchestra, conducted by Robert Ames; Citizens of the World Choir, made up of singers with lived experience of displacement and allies; and singer, refugee and survivor of the Burundian civil war Mudibu and poetry from award-winning poets Inua Ellams, Nikita Gill and Salena Godden. It Sounds Like Courage was a night to imagine new possibilities together, with community and solidarity at its centre. The packed audience included the London Mayor, Sadiq Khan who opened the night with a speech about inclusion and hope.
