Afternoon Trains at Oxford, 15/07/2024 (1080p HD)

Oxford is a major interchange station, and the principal town serving the city of Oxford. It sees services from Great Western Railway, Chiltern Railways and CrossCountry, using a combination of Class 165/166s, 168s, 220/221s and 800/802 sets. Oxford is a relatively small station with just four platforms, but punches well above its weight in terms of its passenger numbers. The compactness and long, straight tracks through the station make it brilliant for photography when it's not too busy. It also sees a decent quantity of freight, lying on a main freight corridor from the North West to the major port of Southampton. This was my first visit to Oxford - it's a shame that the HSTs with GWR are long gone, but it's nevertheless a very pleasant station to spend an hour or two at, with a decent variety and frequency of services to keep you entertained.
