The royal physician told King Sagar that the queen would never become a mother because she had gone to war with him a few years ago. During the war, an arrow pierced her womb, damaging her uterus, making her incapable of conceiving. Daksha's 60,000 sons go to Mother Ganga and pray for salvation. Mother Ganga pours her water on them, hoping to liberate them. However, the water has no effect on them because its potency has diminished, and the sages will now purify it through penance. Queen Keshni is weeping in grief when her son, Asamanjas, arrives and asks her why. Queen Keshni explains that they have failed to give Ayodhya an heir. Asamanjas tells Queen Keshni that she need not worry. The king tells the Chief Minister in his court that he cannot give Ayodhya an heir. The Chief Minister tells him that Queen Keshni cannot give Ayodhya an heir, but he can, so she should remarry. King Sagar tells his wife Keshni that he will not remarry. King Sagar summons his son, Asamanjas, shows him pictures of various princesses, and tells him to choose a wife from among them. Asamanjas tells them that he doesn't like anyone, that he is already married to Bhakti, and that he has another sister named Mukti. If Bhakti is pleased with him, she will marry him to Mukti; both are daughters of God. After marrying Mukti, he will gain a place in God's abode. King Sagar, saddened by his wife's words, says that he does not wish to remarry, and Prince Asamanjas has also refused to marry. Just then, the king's messenger arrives and informs him that Sage Aurava and Sage Vasishtha are arriving. Sage Vasishtha tells the king that his second marriage is certain because only after the birth of his son will Shri Ram's birthplace, the descent of Mother Ganga on Earth, and the salvation of Daksha's sons be assured, so he should not delay. King Sagar agrees to Sage Vasishtha's persuasion, but the queen is deeply saddened by this news. When King Sagar of Ayodhya offers Arghya to Surya Dev, Surya Dev appears and tells him that you will have to marry again, only then 60 thousand sons will be born in your house, for whose salvation Ganga Maiya will come to earth. When King Sagar returns, all the maids and the queen were decorating the king's room for the new queen. King Sagar tells his wife that I will not marry without your permission. Queen Keshani asks the king for a second marriage. On the other hand, when the marriage of Princess Sumati of Samastipur was being discussed, Princess Sumati shows the picture of King Sagar and talks about marrying him. Ramanand Sagar presents - 'JAI GANGA MAIYA' based on the most revered and the only living goddess - GANGA. Residing in the Kamandal of LORD BRAHMA, BHAGWATI GANGA, like SARASWATI and LAXMI, is one of the seven SHAKTIS of supreme GODDESS MAHAMAYA ADISHAKTI. The story goes far back when Kapil Muni curses King Sagar's sixty thousand and one sons and reduces them to ashes. On repeated requests by the sole son of King Sagar, Kapil Muni finally changes his mind and says that King Sagar's sons would attain MUKTI only if their ashes are cleansed by the holy water of GODDESS GANGA. Generation after generation apologize to pacify BRAHMA but without success - and finally after music praying by BHAGIRATH - the seventh generation of King Sagar, GANGA reluctantly consents to descend to earth. To contain its powerful fall, LORD SHIVA steps in the way and lets the river tumble gently through his long hair onto the Himalayas. GANGA then flows across India to the edge of the ocean, where she washes over the ashes and gives of millions of Indians for whom the river is Holy because river Ganga personifies GODDESS GANGA who descends to earth to cleanse the sins of mankind.
