His musical journey began at the at the age of 13 when Kalei suffered a sport injury to his left arm. Unable to play sports for an entire year, Kalei soon began to search for something to keep him busy while he recovered. After a few months of searching, Kalei's parents saw an ad in the local newspaper for ukulele lessons. Kalei decided to give it a try and has been passionate about the ukulele eversince he strummed his first chord. In 2008 Kalei's dream of releasing a Cd became a reality. From musical styles ranging from jazz, rock, pop, classical, blues, flamenco, and funk, Kalei showcases his passion for music through this simple four-stringed instrument. Since his debut album, Kalei has toured the United States, Japan, Thailand, and has also opened up for world famous entertainer Bill Cosby.
