Our trip with a caravan from Sarajevo to Albania. Part one. Bosnia. The section between Sarajevo and the Hum border crossing, which is between Bosnia and Montenegro. Is caravanning on gravel roads with a trailer through the mountains possible? Is it true that in the Balkans you can get stuck behind animals crossing the road? I should add that we drove on the M18 national road. Aside from the beautiful views, this section is full of interesting adventures that caravanning enthusiasts will have to face if they choose this route. In theory, it's possible to drive from Sarajevo to Podgorica through the mountains with a trailer, camper, or even a bus. The tunnels are large enough to accommodate even campers with sleeping quarters. However, the bridge at the Hum border crossing over the Tara River is heart-pounding. What's more, you drive on old planks over a cliff. The opening scenes were filmed at the Sarajevo campsite. This episode was cut short after crossing the border into Montenegro, but our caravanning journey continued as we traveled all the way to Golem in Albania. We had further adventures, especially in Albania. The drive through Montenegro, however, was filled with wonderful views. This time, we'll be posting the second episode on Monday evening.
