EL V DESAFÍO CAÑETE LA REAL ABRE SU PLAZO DE INSCRIPCIONES

Registration opened yesterday for the 5th edition of the Cañete la Real Challenge, a sporting event for cycling and mountain sports enthusiasts that will take place on May 2nd. The organizers have set a maximum of 500 bib numbers, and given the anticipation and interest this now well-established race generates in the province, they encourage everyone who wants to participate to secure their place by registering as soon as possible through the following link: https://www.dorsalchip.es/carrera/202... According to the organizers, the 5th Cañete la Real Challenge will cover a distance of approximately 42 kilometers and around 1,200 meters of elevation gain, traversing various tracks, paths, trails, and technical sections. In this regard, and taking into account the satisfaction of the participants, the route will remain practically the same as last year, although it is subject to minor modifications if the damage caused by recent rains in some sections of the course cannot be repaired. In any case, the athletes will enjoy passing through spectacular locations such as the Las Carboneras pine forest, the 'Majá del Santo' (a type of rock formation), the foothills of the Sierra del Padrasto, the descent of the Cañada de Almellones, and La Atalaya. There will be two categories, E-Bikes and Mountain Bikes, and several aid stations will be located along the route. Since its first edition, this event has attracted hundreds of people to the town, including runners, their companions, and family members. Therefore, the town's main monuments will be open to the public, offering leisure activities to visitors while showcasing the important historical and cultural heritage of Cañete la Real. In addition, at the end of the race, various raffles will be held, including prizes such as an e-bike and vouchers for sports equipment. Lunch will also be provided for participants. The 5th Cañete la Real Challenge is a sporting event organized by the "Los Achicharraos Canit" Cycling Club and the Cañete la Real Town Hall, with the collaboration of the Málaga Provincial Council. The organizers have expressed their gratitude for the involvement and work of Civil Protection, the Local Police, and the dozens of volunteers who will be stationed along the route ensuring the smooth running of the race—people without whom it would be impossible to organize an event of this nature.
