Tying the BROWN SUGAR | This Sulphur Pattern WORKS

The Brown Sugar Perdigon is an original pattern of mine. I came up with this bug specifically for Sulphurs and PMDs. The coloring of Sulphurs and PMDs can vary. They can go from darker-looking bugs with some mottled yellowish/creamish highlights to lighter-looking, pale/creamish, sometimes even olive. But all Sulphurs and PMDs share that yellow color. And that’s what the trout key in on. These hatches last a long time, and trout get used to seeing yellow and light-colored bugs. And this is what I was going for here with the Brown Sugar. I wanted a bug to represent the lighter mottled look, so it could stand out amongst all the other darker bugs in the drift, whether they are natural or whether it is a dark bug at the end of someone’s tippet. So that’s what I love about this bug- it stands out in the drift without being flashy. This bug has worked for me everywhere I have used it. Pressured Central PA Limestoners. Technical Tailwaters and The Madison River out West. Anytime I am fishing when Sulphurs or PMDs are hatching, this is my go-to. So whether you are fishing during the Sulphur hatch in the East or the PMD hatch out West, the Brown Sugar will shine for you. It has earned a row on my box, and I think it will do the same for you.
