The Roki Tunnel is a link between South and North Ossetia. It opened in the 1980s. The long road to completion of this project, the foundations of which were laid by the brilliant Ossetian engineer Ruten Gagloev back in the 1930s, has effectively eliminated the borders between South and North Ossetia. History itself dictates the inextricable link between Ruten Gagloev's name and the Roki Tunnel. This is the public opinion in South Ossetia.
