Inner and Outer Tie Rod replacement 1987 C4 Corvette
Showing you how I chose to replace my Inner Tie Rods. I also replaced the outers and the rubber boots. There are some concerns with this method regarding the safety of the Rack and Pinion system. The Service Manual recommends removing the Rack and Pinion system and performing Inner Tie Rod replacement on a bench, out of the car. This requires a rebuild of the steering system as well and with the way this car is going, I've decided it wasn't worth my time so i went ahead with the on-car method...I'll deal with the steering in the future "if" there are ever any problems. With the age of this car and all of the other things going wrong, I'll try this "short cut" because of the "Risk vs. Reward".
