SAMIE'S TIPS: Manually Updating Tritons, On Versions Older Than 60 (USB Edition)

Updating Software for Versions 59 or Below via USB Step 1 - Checking your software version and connecting the USB to the machine. To verify if you will need to update manually or can do it through WiFi, we will navigate the Triton app menus to find the software version. From the home page where it shows Automotive and Motorcycle, go to the top right corner and tap on the three white lines to expand the pop-out menu. Select "Machine Info" and locate the Version number on the left side of the screen. It can range from version 30 to the current version 66 at the time of this post. As mentioned earlier, if you are below V60 or on a partial version like 61.2, you will need to manually update with the instructions below. Otherwise, you can update via WiFi (   • Video  ). Step 2 - Uninstalling the Triton app. Once you’re in the settings, we are ready to uninstall the current Triton app. Before doing so, it is important to note that all favorites, custom key profiles, and cut history will be lost when uninstalling the app. It is irreversible and cannot be recovered once deleted. If you want to keep this info, back it up before starting the uninstall. Continuing with uninstalling the old software, you will need to hit the back button at the top left to go to the main settings page then select "Apps" to see a list of all apps on the tablet. Scroll until you find "Triton" then select it and hit "Uninstall". The machine will have a prompt saying, "Do you want to uninstall this app?", please hit "Ok" to continue. Once the machine is done uninstalling the app, you are ready to proceed to the next step. Step 3 - Downloading and installing the new Triton app. We will now need to open the file storage on the machine. To exit from the settings, press the circle button on the taskbar. Locate and tap on the white circle with 6 dots to see the app list and select “ES File Explorer”. Once the app has opened, tap on the three blue lines at the top left of the screen to expand the pop out menu. Find and expand ”Local” on the pop out menu. Under the local section, find and select your USB to view the files. Find the Triton .apk file and tap on it to start the download process. There will be a small box in the middle of the screen showing the progress with a blue bar. After it is finished downloading, the screen will show a properties menu. Tap on the "Install" button two times then tap on "Open" when the install is complete. This will launch the newly installed Triton app. Step 4 - Registering the machine and calibration. Once the app is launched and loads, it will bring you to the registration page asking for your serial number and code. You can find these on the silver sticker underneath the screen.
