How to Make a Vulcanized Rubber Mold for an Eternity Ring - WOW!

This is the professional, step-by-step way to a make a vulcanized rubber mold for a gold eternity ring. The level of skill used by independent jeweler Gaston Rives in cutting the mold is no less than astronomical...a true feast for the eyes! It is a akin to the shaping of a beautiful sculpture by a master artist. To make the mold, Gaston uses a rectangular aluminum frame, stacked sheets of Castaldo natural rubber (due to it's high consistency), and a metal mold of the actual eternity ring. After the rubber is compressed (with the metal ring inside) and cooked in a vulcanizer for one hour, it is cut with extreme care to separate it from the ring and prepare it for the wax injection. The resulting wax mold of the ring can subsequently be used to cast a beautiful eternity ring out out of any metal (the topic of a future video).
