Metropolitan Hilarion's film explores the art of stained glass and how biblical stories were embodied in the works of medieval masters. How was Dionysius the Areopagite's teaching on Divine Light reflected in Gothic architecture and stained glass? How were stained glass windows created, and what theological ideas underpinned their designs? You'll learn all about this in our film. The film crew visited Chartres Cathedral, which boasts a virtually intact ensemble of 12th-13th-century stained glass windows, unique in the world, as well as the Royal Chapel of Sainte-Chapelle in Paris.
