Monasterium van Opgrimbie, België
Between the 13th and 18th centuries, the landscape of the Netherlands, and especially Flanders, was dotted with more than 20 Carthusian monasteries. At the end of the 18th century, this tradition suddenly came to an end, notably due to the French Revolution. Two centuries later, the Church asked the Monastic Family of Bethlehem to continue this tradition of prayer on this Flemish land, according to its own charism.
