Mincha - Afternoon Prayer

Mincha is the Jewish afternoon prayer service, recited daily from after noon until sunset. It is the second of the three daily prayers, following Shacharit (morning prayer) and preceding Maariv (evening prayer). The Mincha service includes prayers like Ashrei and the Amidah, and its name refers to an ancient meal offering (korban mincha) that corresponds to the afternoon Temple offering, making it an auspicious time for prayer. Timing Mincha Gedola (Large Mincha): The earliest time the prayer can be recited, about half an hour after midday.
