In this video, I'm testing the Solakon One specifically for these features: local control instead of cloud dependency, zero feed-in without online reliance, and full integration with Home Assistant. Solakon contacted me a few months ago, and I was able to speak directly with the CTO and the developers and clearly define my requirements for a truly local storage system. Now we'll see if Solakon delivered and whether I can ultimately recommend the battery. I'll unbox the system (including PV modules and an expansion battery), showcasing hardware highlights such as four MPPT inputs (up to 2.6 kW peak), an emergency power outlet with off-grid and grid backup, a LAN port, an external Wi-Fi antenna, an IP65-rated enclosure, and a heater for outdoor use. Next, I'll move on to my four standard tests for collaborations: disconnecting the internet, checking server locations and data storage, testing local interfaces and Home Assistant control, and evaluating the app setup. Particularly interesting: zero feed-in works locally in offline mode via smart meters (Shelly or IR readers), while, as expected, the app is unusable without a cloud connection. In the second part, I'll demonstrate step-by-step the Home Assistant integration via HACS and Modbus TCP, which sensors are available (PV energy, battery charging/discharging energy, power, SOC, string values), and how to properly set up the Energy Dashboard. Then I'll take over active control: exporting/discharging via Home Assistant, manually setting the feed-in power, and implementing zero feed-in via automation/blueprint. The result: local control is possible, including a stable data basis for analysis and automation, without cloud dependency for operation. Solakon sponsors this video.
