This 40-Minute Hyrox Workout Completely Exposed My Weaknesses 🥵
I was heading to New York City for my first-ever Hyrox race to compete in doubles with my buddy Nick Walker, but the weather had other plans and the race was canceled. Honestly, since I only had about four weeks of training under my belt, it might be a blessing in disguise. It gives me more time to get properly prepared. I am already planning to take on a doubles race and possibly a pro solo race in Tampa for my first official event, and I have my sights set on Dallas down the road as well. Since I am still very new to the sport, I am diving straight into the training to get better. Today I am tackling a brutal 40-minute Hyrox workout that I grabbed from Jake Dearden's Instagram page. It is a massive challenge that hits a little bit of everything in five-minute increments. This was my first time trying this specific workout, and it really serves as a major eye-opener for where my fitness and leg strength are currently at compared to true solo Hyrox fitness. The 40-Minute Hyrox Workout Structure: 0 to 5 Mins: 1000m Ski 5 to 15 Mins: 50m Sled Push and Pull 15 to 20 Mins: Burpee Broad Jumps 20 to 25 Mins: 1000m Row 25 to 30 Mins: 200m Farmers Carry 30 to 35 Mins: 100m Walking Lunge 35 to 40 Mins: 100 Wall Balls to finish After wrapping up the workout and fueling up with a massive 1200-calorie breakfast, it is straight into Monday coaching check-ins.
