God Commits to Commitment. God the father always does commitment in love. His love is firm. If you take the faithful action, you build others, then you are built up, too. Hanani, a prophet who also had a son, delivered to King Asa the promise of God by tough love through the verses found in 2 Chronicles l6:7-9. King Asa is one of the good kings. But King Asa hired someone and did not wait on the Lord. God did not like this action plan of Asa. Asa forgot to go to the source - God. God extends tough love. Does tough love also ways get an explanation? No. But God's tough love tells what you did wrong and tells you a promise. In these verses from Chronicles, God's promise is that eyes are always searching because God commits to the commitment. God is committed to you. New parent perspective: you once focused on yourself. Then the child came. Your world is focused on the gift of the child God has given you. You have taken on the commitment of the role of parent. New christian commitment: how do you care for the pastor? how do you care for the small group that you've joined. Prayer. Involvement in their lives. The bible story of the centurion who had a sick servant tells about his commitment. He has faith, and the servant is healed via prayer. Faith gets you in the field. Commitment gets you in the game. 2 Kings 4:1-7 Is a father's nightmare and a father's fear 1. loosing a kid or spouse 2. not able provide for family and that they suffer for want. The faithfulness of man is a ministry of family. In this story a woman and child are in need. The prophet then helps them because these were faithful people. The woman commited to commitment in getting the jars to collect olive oil from neighbors. The olive oil flowed until there were no more jars. The family was taken care of. Challenge: What responsibilities has God entrusted you????
