After 3 days idle, CSX B459 gets cleared by Amtrak to exit Popes Creek Sub & enter NEC in Bowie MD

When NB trains reach Amtraks Northeast Corridor on Popes Creek Sub after a certain time in the evening, they often get stuck here for a day or 2 until Amtrak gives clearance for them to travel 8 miles south into DCs Benning Yard (or when CSX crews are available). 2 loaded Rock Runners head south early in the week on this line so it was an easy catch, knowing a single track line would need to be clear for Southbound trains. 7-6-2026 at 7:40PM. 4 trains roll through here a week, lately there has been local traffic (boxcars) heading down to a Lumber Customer who gets cars every now and then.
