1990s Coin Operated Post Van Kiddie Ride - Postman Pat

Filmed at Worthing Lido on August 2nd 2020. RG Mitchell of Skegness acquired the rights to Postman Pat in the late 1990s, and launched this "new, improved" version of OMC's earlier model at the ATEI in January 1998. While at first glance, you could be forgiven for thinking that the ride had not undergone many changes, the interior underwent a complete makeover and included one of Mitchell's trademark "rolling road displays" in front of the rider. Like its OMC predecessor, the ride had two sound effect push buttons, one for the "toot toot" of a horn, the other for Jess's "Meow". The movement of the ride had also changed from OMC's usual oscillating motion to a more standard smooth forward and back. Something had gone wrong with this ride, causing it to keep thanking me for coin insertion throughout the ride! It had obviously been refurbished with a Stamar timer and played a different version of the theme tune to the one used originally.
