Oil Paint Colors: Which Are Must-Haves?
In this video I break down the oil paint colors I’ve tried and share my honest thoughts on which I consider must-have, nice-to-have, or ones to potentially skip. I go through colors by group (reds, yellows, blues, earth tones, etc.) and explain why I reach for certain colors more than others. For most of them I show what they look like on a canvas next to other colors. This is my subjective perspective and I appreciate it can be influenced by what you paint, personal preference, and other variables. Feel free to let me know in the comments which colors you use the most or if I missed any big ones.
