Offshore kayak fishing for red snapper started off with plenty of action, but I had one goal—to catch a bigger fish. Instead of keeping the smaller legal snapper, I released every one of them, hoping the next drop would produce the fish I was after. As the day went on, the weather began to change, the seas built, and my window offshore started closing. In the end, the bigger snapper never showed up, and I pedaled back to shore empty-handed—but with no regrets.
