Recent reports of drug-impaired driving have prompted the New Taipei City Police Department to conduct a special anti-drug operation from the 24th to the 26th, arresting 130 suspects in just three days, including even temporary workers hired by the Environmental Protection Bureau. Latest data indicates that drug-impaired driving incidents have increased at least threefold compared to last year (2026), but fortunately, 90% of these cases were proactively detected by police "before the incident." Experts have also pointed out that the "half-life" of zombie-themed drug cartridges is extremely short, and if drug users delay testing, the test could potentially go from positive to negative. In response, the Criminal Investigation Bureau stated that if a suspect tests positive via rapid testing, they will expedite the process to obtain a urine test, ensuring accurate detection before the half-life begins.
