The State of Trade and Technology Policy Entering 2024

2024 stands to be a landmark year for trade, technology, and economic security policy. The U.S. government will continue to implement hallmark policies such as the CHIPS and Science Act, while advancing discussions with key partners in frameworks such as the U.S.-EU Trade and Technology Council (TTC) and the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF). The U.S. government will continue advancing cutting-edge guidelines for emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence. Moreover, the United States and its partners will continue to advance a broader economic security agenda through the G7 and will deepen global work to secure supply chains across several critical sectors. Please join the Project on Trade and Technology for an armchair discussion with Marisa Lago, Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade. Emily Benson welcomes Under Secretary Lago to CSIS to preview the Biden administration’s trade, technology, and commercial agenda heading into 2024. This event will be livestreamed from 11:15-11:45 AM ET on January 19th, 2024. --------------------------------------------- A nonpartisan institution, CSIS is the top national security think tank in the world.
