Nauset Marsh Crashing Waves

We kayaked Nauset Marsh in Eastham, Massachusetts. Today was a treat. When the waves at the ocean are big, the tide is high, and the waves are coming from the east, some of those waves will pass through Nauset Cut from the ocean and travel into the marsh. When they get near the marsh grass on the opposite size, they rise up in amplitude and crash on the marsh grass. We were also dealing with a peak flood current which creates a weird vortex of currents on either side of the cut which we were trying to avoid. This video is mostly paddling the marsh behind where they break and then doing a marsh equivalent of a "surf launch" paddling through the breakers. We wanted to surf back down but discovered a large pod of seals in our way and along the surf line. We tried to paddle around them but their curiosity kept on following us.
