Profile of the Murder of Teresa Gilcrease

Teresa Marie Gilcrease, while visiting her family in Boyce, Louisiana was murdered after leaving an Alexandria, Louisiana bar with an unknown man. Her body was discovered on a rural road. She had been stabbed and run over more than once. Twenty years has passed and the case remains unsolved. Recently a YouTube channel, Trace Evidence, did two shows on the case, citing many news articles and ruminating on who could have committed this crime and why. During the show it was mentioned that a profiler submitted a profile to the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Department. I was the profiler who did the profile in 2003. I will disclose what was written in my profile and what hope there is left of solving this case. I will also look at the problems of trying to understand a case from snippets of news articles, trying to connect the dots from a distance and outside the police agency.
