20. Post season scouting open timber on state land in Michigan, with poor stand locations and rubs.

This post season scouting video on a recently acquired piece of Michigan public land was supposed to be a serious scouting video in search of mature buck sign from the previous season in hopes of having another public land location to hunt in 2020. Per the aerial photo it had a marsh with interspersed brush, a small lake, river, cattails and edges but in heavily pressured areas you can't judge an area until you put boots on the ground and this area ended up being another Michigan public land bust.due to the lack of security cover within the timber for any chance of daytime movements by a mature buck. In fact, on several occasions I couldn't help but laugh at the stands we found in open timber and for that I apologize because many hunters just don't know what they are doing and most frequently they just don't know any better.
