DV Lottery Update, World Cup Visa Issues & New Immigration Developments

🚨 Immigration & Travel Update 🚨 Back in April, I shared the changes that took effect regarding the Diversity Visa Lottery. Those changes did take effect, but as of now, there have been no major updates regarding DV-2028, even as we inch closer to October, when applications traditionally open. I also revisited a topic I covered in Season 2: the intersection of the FIFA World Cup and immigration policies. For the first time ever, 10 African nations are represented at the World Cup: ⚽ Senegal • South Africa • Morocco • Tunisia • Egypt • Algeria • Ghana • Côte d'Ivoire • Congo • Cape Verde One of the stories receiving international attention is that of Omar Artan of Somalia, Africa's Referee of the Year in 2025, who was reportedly denied entry into the United States despite traveling in his official capacity as a FIFA referee. We've also seen reports involving members of the Senegalese delegation, officials denied entry, and concerns surrounding travel arrangements affecting other teams. For me, these stories are a reminder that immigration policies aren't just words on paper. What I discussed in Season 2 as theory is now playing out in real time. I also discussed: ✅ A recent court ruling affecting pending immigration applications for some individuals already in the United States. ✅ Proposed changes to visa processing across Africa. 🌍 Reported Visa Processing Hubs in Africa Abidjan (Ivory Coast) • Accra (Ghana) • Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) • Cape Town (South Africa) • Dakar (Senegal) • Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) • Djibouti • Johannesburg (South Africa) • Kampala (Uganda) • Kigali (Rwanda) • Kinshasa (DR Congo) • Lagos (Nigeria) • Lomé (Togo) • Luanda (Angola) • Malabo (Equatorial Guinea) • Monrovia (Liberia) • Nairobi (Kenya) • Port Louis (Mauritius) • Praia (Cape Verde) • Yaoundé (Cameroon) ⚠️ Immigration policies change quickly. Please verify information through official government sources before making decisions based on any update. I am not an immigration attorney.
