Hike to Kendall Katwalk | day hike on the Pacific Crest Trail | 12.4 miles out and back

This is an amazing day hike along the PCT! If you're in the area and looking for a challenging hike, I highly recommend it! Kendall Katwalk is a 150 yard long narrow pathway blasted out of a steeply sloped granite rock face on the north ridge of Kendall Peak approximately 6 miles northeast of Snoqualmie Pass. (Wikipedia) The trailhead is easily accessible from Interstate 90 at Snoqualmie Pass. The challenge to this hike is the elevation gain and distance of the out and back. When I was planning the hike I checked recent trip reports on the Washington Trails Association website, WTA.org, to see what the trail and snow conditions were like. When I went in late June there were just 3 small snow patches left on the trail, one on a slope and two on flat sections. Hikers were passing easily but I brought my microspikes in case I wanted them- I didn't want to go in 5 miles and then have to turn around. The mountain views are amazing and I enjoyed the added bonus of seeing a wide variety of wildflowers along the way. If you have any comments or questions please let me know!
