RC Messerschmitt Me 262 Carbon Reinforced: Flight Thirty Nine

The Dynam 'Messerschmitt Me 262' has a 1400mm wingspan, twin 70mm 12 blade EDFs, twin 100A ESCs, and runs on a 6S 4500mAh LiPo. Flight Review: Before this flight, I carried out some significant modifications to the aircraft, adding carbon fibre reinforcement to both the wings and elevators to improve the overall rigidity of the airframe and flight controls. The difference was immediately noticeable, with the aircraft feeling far more precise and solid in the air. The improvements gave it a flying feel much closer to a balsa model despite still being a foam airframe. I also spent some time improving the cockpit detail, refining the instrument cluster and cockpit framing to create a more immersive scale appearance. With the modifications complete, the aircraft was flown behind the Trojan and looked fantastic in the air. The added stiffness translated into a more confident and predictable feel, particularly during higher speed passes and manoeuvres where the airframe previously showed some flex. The flying session included several takeoffs towards the north, allowing plenty of opportunities to evaluate the changes. The aircraft tracked cleanly on departure and felt noticeably more planted throughout the flight, making it enjoyable to fly while retaining the unique character that makes the Me 262 such an iconic aircraft. To finish the session, I performed a touch and go before bringing the model back around for landing. The rollout was well controlled, coming to a stop before the end of the tarmac. Overall, the modifications have transformed the aircraft and I am looking forward to flying the newly improved Me 262 again in future flights. Let me know what you think of the upgrades.
