Hey guys. Kevin here with etrailer. And today I'm gonna be showing you how to install the Roadmaster Exact Center Steering Stabilizer here on our 2017 Winnebago Vista Class A motor home. If you experience a lot of wandering when you're going down the highway, maybe you have a lot of high crosswinds or when a semi comes by, it starts to kind of push you and you really have to fight that steering wheel back and it's kind of just a little bit too hard or harder than it should be. Then what you're gonna wanna do is install the Roadmaster Exact Center Steering Stabilizer. This steering stabilizer has a nitrogen gas filled shock in the center of it, so there's no more big, heavy coil that's gonna be sitting on there that you'll have to deal with. And what it's gonna do is kind of just keep this tie rod in place, keep you going exactly straight and then anytime you start to turn your wheel, maybe you hit a big pothole and it wants to jerk you to one side, it's gonna help fight that back. So you're not gonna have that real tough time trying to stay straight and trying to pull back into the lane. Whereas without it you might have some more issues, especially if you're going down a really bumpy road that's really gonna wanna try and throw you and that can be unsafe. Take a look at our brackets. These brackets are also all powder coated so that you don't have to worry about those rusting out and deteriorating over time. On each end, you're gonna see a little lock nut, and what that's gonna do is kind of lock this in place once you have it set. If you needed to make any adjustments, you could take a wrench and loosen that up on either side and kind of start twisting the Exact Center itself so that you can get the correct adjustment. Determining the correct bracket kit to go along with your Roadmaster Exact Center is going to require a little bit of work on your part. You're gonna need to first of all know the style of your chassis. So with ours today is a Ford F-53. I also need to know the gross vehicle weight rating so I can get the correct Exact Center because there are a couple different kinds, depending on the weight of your motor home. And then we're also gonna need to know the engine size. So this one is, I believe, a V10. In some cases, there are a little bit of differentiating factors where something could kind of be in the way for the brackets. That's why that engine size is just kind of needed because Roadmaster has every now and then, a little indicator saying, hey, you're gonna need this extra bracket. So just make sure you have all that information. You can plug that in and figure out exactly what you need for your motor home. If you need some help finding that, then go ahead and reach out to us via our Ask the Experts link and one of us can help find the correct kit for your motor home. Alright, now that we have our stabilizer installed, we're gonna go ahead and go over our little bump course here. And what this is gonna do is simulate rough roads. Maybe you're going over some potholes. Now if we get kind straighten out here, you can see a little bit on the steering wheel, just how much it's gonna bounce. (vehicle clanking) Try and hold that a little bit. There you go. Now obviously, we're going at a really low rate of speed. I'm doing under 10 miles per hour, so imagine hitting that at a highway speed. It's gonna want to really jerk you around. That steering stabilizer in place is gonna kind of hold you back. It's gonna make sure that you stay straight and that you don't start swerving in or out of your lane. And then when we get up to our turns, it's gonna make it a lot easier to track back into our center here. So if we take a real wide sweep, it's gonna help us easily pull right back to straight, that way I don't have to really yank it. (engine revving) Once again, we can go ahead and if I let go of it, I'm kind of just tracking along our edge of our concrete there and it's kind of holding us pretty straight with that, so we know we have it installed correctly. We've already gone ahead. I did a little bit of adjustment just because I was kind of tracking to the right a little bit, so you never know. Right outta the box, it was a little bit loose just with those lock nuts. So you may have to do a little bit of work yourself, (vehicle clanking) adjusting that just to make sur
