Siskel & Ebert - Philadelphia
Arguably the best film of 1993 was Philadelphia starring Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington. The film was the first Hollywood big-budget, big-star film to tackle the issue of AIDS in the United States and was partially based on a true story about the life of Geoffery Bowers. Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert gave the film 2 thumbs up and Tom Hanks won Best Actor at the 66th Academy Awards.
