CELEBRATION OF CRAZY PRIDE DAY 2026 LAS PALMAS DE GRAN CANARIA The manifesto was read by: Mr. Eduardo Rodríguez Castellano - member of the Espiral Association READING OF THE MANIFESTO AT CRAZY PRIDE 2026 WE ARE NOT PEOPLE WHO DESERVE THE PSYCHIATRIC HOSPITAL Today, on Crazy Pride Day, we raise the banner of organized struggle. Today we stand against stigma and in favor of integration. We are not criminals. We are not mentally deficient. We are not people who deserve the psychiatric hospital. We are not children. We want to decide about our lives and futures. We want complete happiness in that future and the right to work in the private and public sectors. We are not circus monkeys to be fed with meager peanuts. We don't want peanuts, but decent pensions. The WHO warns that with the increasing rate of trafficking of people, goods, and information, cases of mental health problems are on the rise. This affects you, yes, you who are listening. We fight for the defense of public services and for more staff to be incorporated into the healthcare system. We maintain that the best person to support a patient is another patient. We don't want to be labeled with diagnoses. Nor do we want to be restrained like animals. Nor do we want to be drugged with excessive amounts of psychotropic medications. We are not psychiatric patients. So, what are we? In short, we are a mirror in which to see ourselves reflected. Ultimately, we are Humanity, and with Humanity we demand to be treated.
